Causes of Hair Loss and Care Tips
Hair loss is a complex issue caused by both external and internal factors, including stress, nutritional deficiencies, hormonal changes, genetic factors, illnesses, medications, and chemical treatments.
Hair Loss and Stress
Stress can lead to hair loss with a delay of 3-6 months. If you notice sudden hair loss, consider what happened six months ago. Maintaining a balanced lifestyle helps keep the hair growth cycle normal.
Hair Anatomy
The scalp contains an average of 100,000 hairs, and it is normal to lose about 100 hairs daily. Over 90% of these hairs are actively growing, a phase known as the growth phase. During this phase, the hair is deeply embedded in the subcutaneous fat tissue, making it difficult to pull out. However, hair naturally cycles and renews in the scalp every 3-7 years, with the growth phase being the longest part of the hair's life cycle.
After the growth phase, the hair enters the shedding phase, which lasts about two weeks. Following this is the resting phase, which lasts approximately 3-5 months. During the resting phase, the hair moves closer to the surface of the skin, making it easier to comb out from the scalp.
